E-ledgers Explained
A video learning series that breaks down complex questions on product-level emissions accounting into clear, concise, and practical insights.
Allocation
Curious how the E-liability methodology ensures representationally faithful allocation of emissions and consistency across entities and industries? Our co-founders, Robert Kaplan and Karthik Ramanna, join our Chief of Staff, Lauren Holloway, in exploring the allocation of emissions from common resources and joint products.

Electricity Emissions
Our co-founders, Robert Kaplan and Karthik Ramanna, explore current conceptual gaps in Scope 2 reporting and electricity emissions measurement. How can electricity emissions be accurately accounted for and allocated using the E-ledgers methodology? Watch the video and learn about our five key principles for accurate electricity emissions accounting.

Emissions Aggregation
Our co-founders, Robert Kaplan and Karthik Ramanna, join our Operations Associate, Sandy Lum, to explore how the E-liability methodology tracks and aggregates emissions across the economy. How does it move from individual transactions to entities, jurisdictions, and ultimately the global E-ledger? And what does this mean for the credibility of net-zero claims?

Direct Measurement and Assurance
Accurate carbon accounting is the lynchpin to align capitalism with decarbonization, and that accuracy stems from how primary emissions data are measured and verified. In this video, we describe three practical approaches to direct emissions measurement and explore how the E-liability method ensures those numbers can be verified and passed down a value chain with confidence.

Scaling E-ledgers
How can the E-ledgers methodology scale from individual pilots to global supply chains and ultimately into a global emissions accounting system? In this video, our co-founders unpack how recursion, circular supply chains, geometric expansion, public policy incentives, and blockchain technology together help enable accurate, real-time emissions accounting at scale.

Guest Feature: Maria T. Zuber
Professor Maria T. Zuber, Chair of the E-ledgers Institute, joins us as the first E-ledgers Explained guest to discuss the significance of E-ledgers in the scientific community. In conversation with our co-founders, Prof. Zuber reflects on her path from space science to climate leadership and explores why emissions traceability matters for scientists, engineers, and policymakers alike.

Accounting Infrastructure
In August, our co-founders published “E-ledgers Carbon Accounting,” describing the accounting infrastructure needed for a global system of interconnected E-ledgers and the journal entries needed for recording E-liabilities and E-assets. This episode accompanies that paper, showing how E-ledger journal entries capture, transfer, and balance emissions and removals across firms, jurisdictions, and the Earth’s geological master ledger.
