Atlantic Council Global Energy Forum 2025

On June 17-18, 2025, the E-ledgers Institute participated in the Atlantic Council Global Energy Forum in Washington, D.C. Professor Karthik Ramanna, our co-founder, spoke on the panel “The Makings of a Manufacturing Powerhouse: Legacy Strength and New Frontiers” alongside Brandon Spencer (ABB Motion), Julian Mylchreest (Bank of America), and Catherine Hunt Ryan (Bechtel), moderated by Neil Brown (KRR). Karthik also led a private roundtable, bringing together influential voices to discuss key challenges and opportunities in emissions accounting.

CleanMed 2025: E-liability in Health Care Supply Chains

On May 7, 2025 our co-founder, Professor Bob Kaplan, presented on an ongoing pilot project applying the E-liability method to several high-volume syringe products at CleanMed 2025 in Atlanta. Led by Maureen Mazurek (Becton Dickinson) and Elizabeth Schenk (Providence Health Systems), the session highlighted how product-level emissions accounting can improve emissions reporting in health care.

IEMA Connect 2024: Closing the Gap Between Ambition and Action

Our co-founder, Professor Karthik Ramanna, discussed how we can improve the robustness of supply chain data for decarbonization as part of the annual IEMA Connect conference. He explored recent case studies to demonstrate steps companies are taking in practice, as well as the important role of carbon accountants in both product-level supply chain decarbonization and effective implementation of policy and regulatory tools, like CBAM.

Evolving E-ledgers: Conceptual Advances and Real-World Applications

In 2024, the E-ledgers Institute successfully hosted its third conference. The virtual event brought together over 250 industry practitioners and Institute staff to advance the field of rigorous carbon accounting, exploring important topics like downstream emissions reporting, the accounting basis of CBAM, applications in the healthcare, fossil fuel, and service industries, and the development of a public-use E-liability standard.
